About
Hi, I am Samuel Etienne a UK-based Multimedia Reporter and Writer. I have held a raft of positions within both public and private sector organisations, from Army Officer to Operations Director.
Initially, I began writing on science and hold a BSc Physics degree from Queen Mary, University of London. Much of my time there was spent waking at 0500hrs and training twice a day, between laboratory sessions and work.
The hard work quickly paid off. I participated in a UK Sport London 2012 Team GB Talent ID programme, created a Track & Field Club and was a member of the first rowing crew from the university to qualify for Henley Royal Regatta in 67 years.
After a stint as a Model and Athlete, I was ready for a cerebral challenge. My wish to positively impact global events and develop leadership, communication and organisation skills (as far away from an office cubicle as possible) led to me becoming an Army Officer.
As an Army Officer I wrote countless reports, honed my leadership skills commanding troops in the field and regularly hosted events for politicians, foreign dignitaries and esteemed guests.
Having hosted a range of people from religious leaders to NYSE-listed CEOs, as well as varied events such as product launches and weddings, I found a knack for engaging storytelling and examining 'the why' behind a narrative.
Armed with a Physicist's curiosity and having observed the increasing power of media influence in military campaigns, elections and events, I report on stories with an inquisitive, integrity-filled approach. I am currently a City university MA Broadcast Journalism postgraduate student.
