Welcome, I’m Samuel Etienne, a UK-based reporter and producer working in television, radio and online media for Bloomberg News.
My areas of focus include geopolitics and international security and how the two impact financial markets, in addition to what governments and organisations are doing to create a more equitable society.
Forever inquisitive about the world around us, I hold a BSc Physics degree from Queen Mary University of London, alongside an MA Broadcast Journalism postgraduate degree from City, University of London. While studying I competed in high-performance sport and still continue search for fun ways to keep fit and the resting heart rate low.
Creating effects-based reports as an army officer honed my research skills and exposed me to the pivotal role sharing engaging narratives has in influencing others - ultimately leading to me becoming a journalist. Whether analysing an insurgency or company’s earnings report, I investigate stories with a resilient and integrity-filled approach.
